The Dragon was worshipped from the Jomon Yayoi Era It was believed to be the bringer of rain.
It had the strength to purify the air and water, therefore providing huge harvests and abundant crops, and was called the “God of Five Grains”. It has since been used in shrines and temples.
In the Edo period, there were a great many artists who mastered the art of the One-Stroke Dragon. Today there are very few masters remaining. We work with one such master in Kyoto.
Dragons can be ordered for delivery in April and December as I personally meet with the artist to ensure the orders are fulfilled as required. They are then brought to the UK and sent out registered post.
They are truly spectacular paintings, painted individually with the spirit of the artist. I can also arrange for a video to be filmed of your painting being produced. We can also give you quotes on larger sizes and double dragons.
Larger sizes: 20.1 x 15.1 inches/24 x 18 inches/26.8 x 23.6 inches. Prices on request. We require that the order is paid in full prior to the painting of your item. You will receive a receipt by return and an approx. date for delivery. Delivery is included in the price of the dragon.
These are authentic, hand-painted works of art. The unframed size is 11.8 x 23.6 inches. We cannot provide framed pieces unless you can collect the piece.
